Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian have said they originally thought Kim was joking when she announced her engagement to New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries last month.The sisters claim they were caught completely caught off guard by the news, especially as the couple had only been together since late 2010.
"Mine was insanity in the best way ever," Khloe told MTV News, regarding her own shock marriage to Lamar Odom back in 2009. "But Kim's, we were totally surprised.
"I mean, because I had been working so much, and Kris lives in New Jersey, I've only met him not even a handful of times. We were at a family dinner and she walks in and she's like, 'I'm engaged', but we didn't even know if it was a joke."
Kourtney admitted that even though she has met Kris a lot more than Khloe, she was still shocked when Kim revealed the engagement.
"We were definitely all surprised," she said. "I had even just been on a vacation with them and was still really surprised."
The sisters said the new season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians would document Kim and Kris's relationship leading up to the announcement of the engagement.
"Obviously no one knew in between what was going to happen, so it's cool that they have it documented for their future," Khloe added.
The reality star recently admitted that she expects Kim to turn into a 'bridezilla' while planning her wedding to the NBA star.
The new season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians launches on E! tonight.
