Southland star Regina King has revealed that she is keen to explore the consequences of her character's new relationship.In the third season finale, Detective Josie Ochoa (Jenny Gago) discovered that her partner Lydia (King) was sleeping with her son Rodrigo (Maurice Compte).
King told TheWrap: "I hope that you get to see the two women on [either] side of [this crisis], and get to see how certain circumstances in relationships... change the way you live, or the way you relate to each other."
The actress added that she is hoping to explore the aftermath of Josie's discovery over a long period of time.
"I think that's more interesting than seeing the [relationship] blow up and how they work through it," she suggested. "It's [about] how they're living with it."
King's co-star Michael Cudlitz recently admitted that he is "hoping for happier times" for his character John Cooper, while Ben McKenzie (Ben Sherman) claimed that his character's new partnership with Sammy (Shawn Hatosy) will be "explosive".
The new season of Southland begins filming in October.
